Thanksgiving: Ansonia 49 Naugatuck 14

Ansonia improved to 11-0 with a win over Naugatuck on Thanksgiving morning at Naugatuck HS.

Sophomore Arkeel Newsome rushed 24 times for 282 yards and 5 touchdowns. Newsome broke former Chargers' RB Alex Thomas' TD record (47) after his third score of the day. Newsome has a total of 50 TDs through 11 games this season. He also broke TIm Washington's scoring record (292 total points in 11 games) and now has 314 points through 11 games.

Tyler Lester tossed a TD to Ryan O'Connor and Dennis Danley ran for a TD. The Chargers will now face Bethel in the quarterfinals of the Class M playoffs.

Game time is set for Tuesday, November 29th, 6:30 p.m. at Jarvis Stadium in Ansonia.

Ansonia on Traditions TV

Ansonia Football was featured on a television show on Sports New York (SNY) called Traditions. The Traditions crew filmed the Chargers as they practiced leading up to the game versus Watertown. Past and present coaches and players were also interviewed.
