2011 Class M Championship: Ansonia 38 Ledyard 0
The Ansonia Chargers won their 17th State Title! The Chargers defeated the Ledyard Colonels, 38-0, at Rentschler Field in East Hartford.

Arkeel Newsome ran 42 times for 364 yards and three touchdowns as top-ranked Ansonia beat No. 3 Ledyard Saturday, 38-0, in the Class M final at Rentschler Field.
It was a state-record 17th state championship for the Chargers (14-0).
Newsome set the state's single-season record for rushing yardage (3,763). Former Ansonia tailback Alex Thomas had rushed for a record 3,596 yards in 2007.
Newsome also set state single-season records for touchdowns (62) and points (388).
Senior QB Elliot Chudwick threw a pair of touchdowns - Raeshaun Finney (7 yards) and Andrew Matos (8 yards).
Tyler Lester had 8 carries for 27 yards and scored on a 6-yard run.
And on defense, the Chargers were a force with Jake LaRovera (2 sacks), Tyler Wood (7 tackles), and Ryan O'Connor (9 tackles) as it pitched a shutout.
Ansonia is the first team in Connecticut High School football history to complete a 14-0 season.
