The Chargers moved to 9-1 on the season, beating the Kennedy Eagles 43-8 on Senior Night at Jarvis Stadium.
Tajik Bagley ran for 3 touchdowns, and ran for 259 yards, while Tyler Bailey caught 2 TD passes from Ja'Quan McKnight. Jevonne Lashley also scored for the Chargers, who led 43-0 in the 4th quarter.
With the win, Ansonia has almost clinched a playoff spot in class S, just needed a few bonus points to qualify.

The Chargers rallied with 2 Touchdowns in the final 2 minutes to defeat Woodland, 30-28. Both of the the touchdowns cam on 4th & goal throws from MCKnight to Tyler Bailey.
The Chargers rebounded from their first loss in over 3 years by beating Holy Cross 42-6 at Nolan field.
Led by RB Tajik Bagley(4 rushing TD'S) and WR Witold Gul (2 TD catches), the Chargers respnonded after trailing early 6-0., putting up 42 unanswered points.
Bagley ran for 151 yards on 23 carries, and Gul caught 3 passes for 123 yards. QB Jai'Quan McKnight completed 5 of 7 passes for 176 yards in the win.

Ansonia saw their 48 game winning streak come to an end, losing a hard-fought defensive battle to #5 Newtown. Ansonia trailed 7-0 at halftime, then 14-0 before Tyler Bailey hauled in a 19 yard pass from McKnight, then McKnight ran in a 2 pt conversion.
The Chargers has their chance in the 4th qtr, twice driving deep into Newtown territory, but were just unable to finish.

The usually dominant Ansonia Defense got of to a shaky start in this one, but the offense and special teams picked it up. Jai'Quan McKnight scored on a long kickoff return, and ran fro another score, while Tyler Bailey score 4 TD's, 3 on the ground and one on a 61 yard punt return. Tajik Bagley ran for 2 scores.

In a battle of undefeated teams, the Chargers came out and dominated rival Seymour en route to a 43-6 win.
Jr. Tailback Tajik Bagley - playing on an injured ankle, ran for 3 scores, and Sr. QB Jai'Quan McKnight ran for 2 scores, and threw for a 3rd to Witold Gul.
Ansonia's defense was dominant, holding Seymour running back Joe Salemme to just 70 yards in the game.

Missing two star players (RB Tajik Bagley and QB Jai'Quan McKnight), big blue scored early and often in a 40-0 rout of host Wilby. T
Tyler Bailey led the offense, scoring 5 TD's on the day (4 rushing, and one 50 yard punt return), while Armani Rivera also scored on a long run for Ansonia.
The defense was great once again, limiting WIlby to 1 first down in the entire first half.

The Chargers defense was very strong, limiting what the Red Raiders coulld do, limiting Derby QB Mike Kreiger to only 5 of 15 passing, and only allowing
Offensively, Jr. tailback Tajik Bagely scored on a 43 yard run early, before leaving with an injury in the 2nd quarter. Tyler Bailey picked up some of the slack, scoring on runs of 9 yards and 4 yard in the 2nd half, while Sr, QB Jai'Quan McKnight scored on runs of 45 yards and 34 yards.

The Chargers dominated the young, inexperienced Oxford Wolverines last night, winning 45-0.
Ansonia cruised to their 44th straight win, as Tajik Bagley ran 11 times for 111 yards and 3 touchdowns, while Jai'Quan McKnight threw for a touchdown and ran for another. The defense got into the scoring as well, as Tyler Bailey scored on a pick-6, and Angel Falero scored on a fumble return.
Things should get tougher next week as the Chargers welcome their rivals Derby to Jarvis Stadium. The game is Friday, September 19th at 7:00pm

The Chargers completed the 3-peat, beating Woodland 51-12, and in the process winning their 43rd straight game! Head Coach Tom Brockett also earned his 100th victory.
Arkeel Newsome carried 34 times for 259 yards and 4 TD's. He also threw an 11 yard TD pass to Tom Majchrzak.
Newsome finished this season with 333 carries for 3,867 yards and 68 touchdowns. He has career totals of 10,672 yards and 187 touchdowns, both state records.
Witold Gul returned a Hawk fumble for a score early on in the game, as the D forced 3 turnovers.
The Chargers are headed back to the class S state championship game after their win over Rocky Hill Saturday!
Arkeel Newsome ran 36 times for 269 yards, and scored 5 touchdowns for Ansonia. Jai'Quan McKnight also threw 2 TD's passes, one a beautiful 71 yard bomb to Witold Gul, and the other a 15 yarder to Tom Majchrzak.
The Ansonia defense also caused a few big turnovers, included a great interception by Tyler O'Connell.

The Chargers, playing without their starting quarterback Jai'Quan McKnight (ankle) turned the keys to the offense over to Senior Arkeel Newsome to run the WIldcat Offense.
All Arkeel did with the opportunity was to run the ball 26 times, gaining 492 yards, and scored 7 touchdowns in the Chargers 49-21 win. In doing so, he became the fist player Connecticut High School Football history gain over 10,000 yards in his career.
Newsome found the endzone 7 times for the second straight game, and also managed over 400 yards in two straight games as well.
The Chargers moved to 12-0 on the season, beating Naugatuck 66-28 on Thanksgiving morning. They won their 40th straight game, and now lead the overall series with Naugatuck 69-35-11 in a rivalry that dates back to 1900.
Senior Arkeel Newsome, playing in his final regular season game, had a day to rememeber. He carried the ball 40 times, gaining 406 yards, and scored 7 rushing touchdowns. Junior QB Jai'Quan McKnight also scored for big blue.
The Ansonia Chargers won their third straight NVL Championship Wednesday night, beating Woodland 48-7.
Senior Arkeel Newsome ran 21 times for 222 yards, and scored on TD runs of 24, 28, 7, and 50 yards. He also scored on 29 yard pass from Jai'Quan McKnight.
Sophomores Tajik Bagley (scored on a 62 yard run), and Tyler Bailey (scored on 37 yard pass from McKnight) added TD's for the Chargers (11-0).
The Charger defense played a strong game, limiting Woodland Tanner Kingsley to 10-29 passing, no touchdowns, and intercepted him 3 times.
The Chargers will play the Woodland Hawks for the NVL Championship on Wednesday, November 20 at 6:30pm at Municipal Stadium in Waterbury.

Ansonia improved to 10-0 on the season with the 50-8 win Thursday night.
Jai'Quan McKnight threw for two TD's, one to Tyler Bailey (28 yds), and another to Thomas Majchrzak (38 yds) to get the Chargers started.
Arkeel Newsome also ran for three scores (10, 40,16 yards), and Senior Jack Williams added two touchdowns on a 2-yard, and a 1 yard run, and Tyler Bailey scored his 2nd TD of the game on a 7 yard run.
The defense held the Bulldogs scoreless through halftime, and allowed a rushing TD mid-way through the 3rd quarter.
The Chargers won their 37th straight game Thursday night, setting the school record for consecutive wins with a 21-20 win at Seymour.
The Chargers trailed the scrappy Wildcats at halftime, 14-7. Arkeel Newsome scored on a 14 yard run in the 3rd quarter to cut the deficit to 14-13. Then he scored again early in the 4th quarter to give the Chargers the lead. After successful 2 point conversion pass fro McKnight to Bagley, the Chargers led 21-14.
The Ansonia Chargers continued their winning ways, running their record to 8-0 on the season with the win on Thursday. They have also matched the school record for consecutive wins at 36 (set back in the 1975-78 seasons).
Arkeel Newsome carried just 3 times in this one, for 103 yards and scored three touchdowns. One on a 7 yard run, another on an 84 yard run, and a third on a 78 yard punt return.
Jai'Quan McKnight got things started early for the Chargers, returning the opening kick off 85 yards for a touchdown.
